A king size ottoman bed lifts the whole mattress on gas pistons and turns the 150 cm x 200 cm under-bed space into storage: room for duvets, pillows and spare bedding. How much can a king size ottoman bed store?
The whole 150 x 200 cm base lifts, so the storage area is the footprint of the mattress. None of these makers publishes the depth under the base, so we do not print a volume: we would be guessing.

Which mattress fits an ottoman bed?
A UK king mattress of 150 x 200 cm fits inside any of these frames. A European king of 160 x 200 cm does not: it is 10 cm too wide and the base will not close on it.
None of these makers publishes a maximum mattress height or weight, so we do not print one. What matters in practice is the balance: the gas struts are set for a mattress of ordinary weight, so a very heavy one lifts fine but will not stay shut, and a very light one leaves the base springing up on its own. A standard king size pocket sprung mattress sits in the middle of that range.

King size ottoman bed FAQ
Is a king size ottoman bed hard to lift?
No. The gas struts take the weight of the base and the mattress, so it lifts with one hand and stays open on its own. Closing takes a light push.
Can I put a heavy mattress on an ottoman bed?
None of these makers publishes a mattress weight limit, so we cannot give you a number. What we can tell you is the symptom: a mattress too heavy for the gas struts makes the base drift open or refuse to stay down, and one too light leaves it springing up on its own. If you already own the mattress, its weight is usually on the label sewn into the side.
Do ottoman beds squeak?
A properly assembled ottoman bed does not. Squeaks come from bolts left loose at assembly: tighten every bolt once the mattress is on, then again after a week.
How long does delivery of a king size ottoman bed take?
