Where the maker does not publish an outside width or length, the cell reads to be confirmed. We measure those frames ourselves before the figure goes on the product page.

• Dust with a dry cloth. A microfibre cloth lifts more than a duster.
• Wipe marks with a barely damp cloth, then dry the timber at once.
• Do not use spray polish on lacquered oak. It builds up and dulls the grain.
• Keep the frame away from a radiator. Dry heat opens joints in solid timber.
• Expect grain and tone to vary between rails, headboard and legs.

Most creaks come from bolts that have worked loose, not from the timber itself. Tighten every bolt with the supplied key about six months after assembly, then once a year. Check that each slat still sits square in its holder. A slat that has slipped sideways rubs against the side rail and clicks with every movement. If a joint still moves, take the two rails apart and refit them square before retightening.

Every frame here arrives flat packed and bolts together, so it also comes apart. Work in reverse: lift the mattress, remove the slats, unbolt the side rails, then free the headboard and footboard. Bag the fixings and tape the bag to the headboard. Two people should handle the oak rails, which are the heaviest single parts. Keep the printed assembly guide in the same bag for the rebuild.
