Small Double Ottoman Beds

The base lifts on gas struts with the mattress in place, so the storage is the full footprint. Every frame lists its outside size, and the base is included.

The size that exists because the double does not fit
A small double takes a 120 x 190 cm mattress. Against a double it saves 15 cm of width and 10 cm of length, which is usually the difference between a walkway you can use and one you turn sideways in.
These frames are 166 to 167 cm wide on the outside. Add 60 cm for one walkway and you have the room width you need. The small double bed size guide has the chart.

Will a 4ft mattress fit a small double frame?
Yes, 4ft is the trade name for 120 x 190 cm and that is exactly what these frames take. Be careful with bedding though: small double duvets and sheets are a separate size and shops often stock them thinly.
Is a small double big enough for two?
It gives each sleeper 60 cm, against 67.5 cm in a double and 75 cm in a king. It works, and it is what most guest rooms and box rooms end up with, but nobody would call it generous.
Do small double ottomans cost more than doubles?
