A super king size bed is 180 cm wide and 200 cm long (6ft x 6ft 6in): 30 cm wider than a king, 90 cm per sleeper. Allow a room about 3.1 m wide so there is a 60 cm walkway on both sides. The frame is always bigger than the mattress. Our super king frames measure 185.4 to 196.8 cm wide and 208.3 to 221 cm long on the outside. Each product page shows the exact figure.

Bedding and mattress for a super king bed

A super king bed takes a 180 x 200 cm UK super king mattress. The European 180 x 200 cm size is identical, so a Continental mattress fits too. A super king duvet is 260 x 220 cm; a king duvet (225 x 220 cm) leaves 35 cm less width and looks short on a super king.

Each sleeper gets 90 cm, against 75 cm on a king size and 67.5 cm on a double.

What size is a super king size bed?

180 x 200 cm, 6ft x 6ft 6in. The frame is bigger than the mattress: our super king frames measure 185.4 to 196.8 x 208.3 to 221 cm on the outside.

Is a super king bed too big for a 3 m room?

In a 3 m wide room our narrowest super king frame, 185.4 cm, leaves 114.6 cm in total, about 57.3 cm each side: tight, but it works with one side near the wall. For a 75 cm walkway on both sides you need about 347 cm.

Does a super king bed come in ottoman?

Yes. We stock 6 super king ottoman frames, from £599. They lift the whole 180 x 200 cm base on gas struts, so the storage underneath is the full footprint of the bed. They are listed together on the super king ottoman beds page.

What is bigger than a super king?

In the UK, nothing standard. Emperor beds (200 x 200 cm) exist from a few makers, made to order. For most bedrooms a super king is the largest practical size.
