Metal King Size Bed Frames
A king size metal bed frame is a bolted steel bedstead that takes a 150 x 200 cm UK king mattress. Eight are in stock here. The steel frames are all under 162 cm wide and about 210 cm long, so they take less floor length than any padded frame in the range. Every one carries a sprung slatted base. Prices start at £319. Assembling and tightening a steel bedstead
- Parts are light and the flat pack passes through a standard doorway.
- Bolt the headboard and footboard to the side rails first, hand tight only.
- Square the frame against the floor, then go round and tighten fully.
- Drop the sprung slats in last and check each one sits in its holder.
- Check and tighten the bolts every six months. This is what stops the rattle.

King Size Metal Bed Frames FAQ
Do metal bed frames squeak?
Steel frames rattle when the bolts work loose, not because the metal itself moves. Tighten every bolt about six months after assembly, then twice a year. Check the sprung slats are still seated in their holders, because a loose slat taps the side rail.
What is the smallest king size metal bed frame here?
The Meridian and the City Block, both 153.5 cm wide on the outside against a 150 cm mattress. They still take a full 150 x 200 cm UK king mattress; steel rails are simply thinner than a padded side.
