Why there are so few
A wooden ottoman is a harder thing to build
An ottoman base has to be rigid enough to lift as one piece without twisting. In an upholstered bed that is done with a padded steel frame nobody ever sees. In a wooden one the structure is part of the look, which is why the choice across the whole UK market is small and why these two cost more than a fabric ottoman of the same size.
Outside widths here run from 164 to 172 cm against the 150 cm mattress, wider than most fabric frames because the timber sides are thicker. Measure the wall before you order.

Is it solid wood?
Each product page says what its frame is made of in the maker's own words. Where a maker says only "wooden" without naming the timber, we print that rather than guessing at oak.
Does a wooden ottoman creak?
Wood moves with the room, so a bolt that was tight in a cold room can loosen in a warm one. Tighten every bolt once the bed is built and again after a fortnight, and a creak almost always goes away.
Can I paint or stain it?
Nothing stops you, but it voids the maker's guarantee, and a lacquered finish has to be keyed back before paint will hold. We would not.
