In a small room, drawers lose to an ottoman
A drawer bed needs 45 to 50 cm of clear floor beside it to pull a drawer out. In a box room that is floor you do not have. An ottoman needs the same clearance only at the foot, or along one side on a side lift, and nothing at all on the other three sides.
These frames measure 163 to 167 cm wide on the outside against a 90 cm mattress, so they take barely more floor than the mattress itself.

Single Ottoman Beds, answered
Can a child lift a single ottoman base?
The gas struts carry the weight, and a single base is the lightest we sell, so it lifts with one hand. Whether a child should be opening it unsupervised is a different question, and we would say no: the base is heavy if a strut ever fails.
Is a single ottoman worth it over a divan with drawers?
If the room is narrow, yes, because you never have to stand beside the bed to open it. If the bed sits with three sides clear, a drawer divan is cheaper and does the same job.
What fits under a single ottoman bed?
The footprint is 90 x 190 cm, so a spare duvet, pillows and a couple of storage boxes. None of these makers publishes the depth under the base, so we do not print a volume.
