Cleaning velvet and fabric, and dealing with marks
- Vacuum the panels with a soft brush attachment. Do this before marks appear, not after.
- Blot a spill with a damp cloth. Do not rub, because rubbing pushes the liquid into the pad.
- Work from the edge of a mark inwards so you do not spread the ring.
- Keep velvet out of direct sunlight. Sun fades pile faster than it fades flat weave.
- Brush crushed velvet in one direction after cleaning to reset the pile.
- Test any fabric cleaner on the underside of a side rail first.

How do you clean an upholstered king size bed?
Vacuum the headboard and side panels with a soft brush attachment. Blot spills with a damp cloth rather than rubbing them, and work from the outside of the mark inwards. Test any fabric cleaner on the underside of a side rail first.
