Metal Bed Frames

Why metal
The narrowest frame for the mattress
A metal king size frame here measures 153.5 to 162.5 cm wide on the outside against a 150 cm mattress. Our upholstered king size frames run from 160.5 to 175 cm, because the padding goes round the outside. In a small bedroom that difference is a walkway.
Headboards run from 84 to 137 cm from the floor, from a low bar to a Victorian style head end.

Metal Bed Frames, answered
Do metal bed frames squeak?
A metal frame squeaks when a bolt works loose, not because it is metal. Tighten every bolt once the bed is built and again after a fortnight, and a squeak almost always goes away.
Steel or wrought iron?
Each product page gives the material in the maker's own words: powder-coated steel, welded steel tubing or wrought iron. Some steel frames here are plain and some are scrolled Victorian designs, so compare the outside size and headboard height on the cards rather than the material name alone.
Is a metal bed cold to lean against?
The bars are, yes, for a minute. If you read in bed, a pillow against the headboard fixes it, or choose an upholstered frame instead.
