The double is the most common bed size in the UK. Here you pick the fabric, no drawers, 2 or 4 drawers, and a curved headboard in the same fabric if you want one. The mattress is sold separately and delivery is free to the UK mainland.

The smallest way to fit a double
A double bed frame is always wider and longer than 135 x 190 cm on the outside; a divan is not, because the base is the size of the mattress. If a double frame only just fits, a divan gives back the few centimetres around it.

Is a double the same as a 4ft6 bed?
Yes. A UK double is 4ft6 wide, 135 x 190 cm. The 4ft small double is a different, narrower size.
Is the mattress included?
No, the price is for the divan base and the options you choose. The photos show a mattress for illustration only.
Double divan or double bed frame?
A divan takes less floor and keeps storage inside the base; a frame shows the floor underneath and has an outside size larger than the mattress. Our double bed frames list that outside size on every product.
2 or 4 drawers?
Two drawers sit on one side, four use both sides. Choose 2 if one side of the bed is against a wall.
