Why a solid oak ottoman costs more
An ottoman base has to lift as one piece without twisting. In a solid oak ottoman that strength comes from the timber itself, which is why these beds cost more than a fabric ottoman or a painted wood one of the same size, and why the parts are heavy: plan on two people to carry them.
In king size these frames measure 160 to 164 cm wide on the outside, against a 150 cm mattress, and the headboards run from 95 to 104 cm. Measure the wall before you order.

Oak Ottoman Beds, answered
Is a solid oak ottoman bed worth it?
Solid oak does not chip to reveal a different material underneath and it can be sanded and refinished. A painted or oak-effect ottoman is lighter and cheaper: our wooden ottoman beds include both.
How deep is the storage?
The whole base lifts, so the storage covers the full footprint of the bed. The makers of these beds give an internal depth of 25 or 27 cm; each product page says which.
Are they made in super king?
Some are. Each product page lists the sizes it is sold in; the others are king size only.
How do I move or dismantle one?
