Will it fit?
This frame takes 170 x 222 cm of floor, from the maker's outside sizes. Allow a room of at least 2.9 x 3.07 m to keep a 60 cm walkway on each side and 85 cm at the foot.
Description
The Sydenham is a grey fabric ottoman bed with a tall 115 cm headboard, made in four sizes from single to king. The base lifts from the foot on gas struts onto storage under the whole bed. It is delivered free by a two-person crew, usually 1 working day after your order.
Because it comes in four sizes, a guest room, a child's room and the main bedroom can match.
What you get
- Ottoman base that lifts from the foot end on gas struts
- Storage under the whole base
- Grey fabric on the headboard and the base
- Headboard 115 cm from the floor
- Single, small double, double and king
- Mattress not included. This is a frame; keep the one you have or buy one separately.
Sizes and outside dimensions
Outside size of the assembled frame, published by the maker. Measure your room against these figures, not against the mattress size.
| Size | Mattress | Frame outside (width x length) | Headboard height |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single | 90 x 190 cm | 109 x 212 cm | 115 cm |
| Small Double | 120 x 190 cm | 140 x 212 cm | 115 cm |
| Double | 135 x 190 cm | 154 x 212 cm | 115 cm |
| King | 150 x 200 cm | 170 x 222 cm | 115 cm |
The base stands 38.5 cm high at the foot end. The maker does not publish the depth of the storage space or a maximum mattress depth, so we do not print figures for them. Frames delivered before December 2023 had a lower headboard; the current one is 115 cm.
Questions
Can I have the same bed in a single and a king?
Yes. All four sizes share the same grey fabric and headboard, so a child's room or a guest room can match the main bedroom. Single ottomans are in single ottoman beds.
Does it meet UK fire regulations?
The maker states that the frame meets UK fire regulations for domestic furniture. It is not certified to CRIB 5, the standard asked for in some rented and contract settings.
How do I clean it?
The maker advises vacuuming regularly and cleaning marks by hand with a mild detergent.
