Description
The Barbican is a Japanese style low bed with no headboard, 15 to 20 cm from the floor, in king or super king. A Yorkshire workshop builds each frame by hand in solid pine or solid oak, so allow 15 to 20 working days for delivery. The maker gives a 12 year structural guarantee.
It has a 20 cm foot end, which suits minimal rooms, loft conversions and lower ceilings.
Made in king size and super king size, in the same design.

How the Barbican compares
We sell five beds from this workshop. All five come in solid pine or solid oak, in the same six finishes, and are made to order.
- Mortlake: standard height, 95 cm headboard, 40 cm foot end, 25 cm clear underneath.
- Teddington: low frame about 20 cm from the floor, 75 cm headboard, 20 cm foot end.
- Eltham: ottoman with a gas lift base and about 22 cm of storage, 84 cm headboard, king size only.
- Osterley: four poster, 95 cm headboard and 40 cm foot end, 25 cm clear underneath.
