Description
A platform top divan base in crushed velvet, made to order in 5 colours, 36 cm high, from single to super king, with no drawers, 2 or 4 drawers. From £199 in single and £299 in king; mattress and headboard not included. Allow 2 to 3 weeks for delivery: about 1 to 2 weeks to make, then the carrier.
The cover is crushed velvet, a velvet whose pile is pressed in random directions so the colour shifts as the light moves across it, in black, brown, champagne, charcoal or silver. The colour photos are the maker's fabric swatches; the shape of the base is the same in every colour.
Crushed velvet is the shiny one of the three fabrics on this base, with five colours: black, brown, champagne, charcoal and silver. If you already have a crushed velvet headboard, this is the base to match it; next to a plain matt headboard, the chenille version is the quieter choice.

Sizes and height
A divan base is the width and length of its mattress, with nothing around it, so it takes less floor space than a bed frame of the same size. The base is 36 cm high in every size, before the mattress.

Drawers
Left and right are as you lie in the bed. Two drawers can go on one side, or one on each side; four drawers are two on each side. The single takes two drawers at most. If the bed stands against a wall, put the drawers on the open side. The maker does not publish the inside size of a drawer, so we do not print one.

From £199 in single, £249 in small double, £249 in double, £299 in king and £349 in super king, without drawers. Two drawers add £40, four drawers add £80.
