What makes a king size bed price go up?
Five things move the price of a king size bed frame. Each one is visible on the product page, so you can see what you are paying for.
- The lifting mechanism. An ottoman base sits on a pair of gas pistons. The base, the hinges and the protective base sheet are what you pay for over a plain frame in the same fabric. The cheapest ottoman here is £399 and the cheapest plain upholstered frame is also £399, so the lifting mechanism is not automatically what you pay for. Compare like with like.
- The footprint. Scroll beds with rolled ends are longer. A plain end-lift ottoman is 205 to 265 cm long outside, and a rolled or scrolled end adds to that. Every product page here gives the outside length, which is the figure to measure against your room.
- The mattress. No frame on this site includes a mattress. The price you see is the frame alone.
